1977 Honda XL100 Unregistered US Import Barn Find Classic Restoration Project
Thislow mileage, tax and MOT exempt, 1977 Honda XL100 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – ball-end off the clutch lever being the most obvious. The RH side panel is cracked, the LH side panel seems to have had a repair, there are a few marks throughout the paint and a small dent at the top of the tank.
The wheels are straight with clean chrome rims and working brakes. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. Instruments look ok and switches lmove freely. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The fuel tank looks useably clean inside. The seat base is in good condition throughout. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are straight and solid. The standard exhaust is solid.
The engine is cosmetically clean. BUT BEST OF ALL when we fed fresh fuel to the carb we had it firing/running & revving but the carb and fuel system will require some attention.
