1978 Kawasaki KZ650B2 Unregistered US Import Classic Restoration Project
This sought after, tax and mot exempt, 1978 Kawasaki KZ650B2 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – battery being the most obvious. The exhaust is non-standard, the seat base has some rust, the tank is mucky/rusty inside and the paint needs work, it is peeling around the petrol cap.
The wheels are straight and clean. The forks and yokes look straight but are lightly pitted. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. Instruments and switches look ok. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are straight and bright. The exhaust is solid but the chrome is pitted.
The engine is cosmetically clean. We have had it firing/running & revving on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.
