1976 Kawasaki KZ400D Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Grabrail being the most obvious. It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, tyres are perished, master cylinder is not working, tank is mucky inside, throttle cables are broken & silencers are rotten. Sadly, the l/h side panel is holed.
The engine is cosmetically quite clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, start & runs.
