1978 Kawasaki KZ1000A Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
This well-respected and much sought after Tax & MOT exempt 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000-A2 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 20850 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........ As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Airbox being the most obvious. There has been a repair to the LH silencer, please ask for close up pictures, and the original paint work is slightly faded.
This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 45 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A true time warp machine! The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy, good discs, calipers and working brakes. The forks and yokes look straight with good chrome. The tail light assy is good as are the headlight and bowl. Instruments and switches look ok. The carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip. The paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is squeaky clean inside. The seat base is in good condition throughout. The indicators are tidy. The chain guard is tidy. Both mud guards are solid. The standard exhaust looks good and solid but has had a repair of some sort at the join.
The engine is cosmetically clean. BUT BEST OF ALL when we gave it a boost and fed it some fresh fuel we had it firing/running & revving on it's own tank.
