1974 Kawasaki G5 100 Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
This well-respected and much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1974 Kawasaki G5 100 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 4262 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Ignition key, r/h mirror, front mudguard & the ball end of the front brake lever being the most obvious. It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, tyres & seat cover are perished. Sadly the tank is dented. The wheels look straight with lightly pitted chrome rims, good hubs & brake plates. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome. Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look ok. Carburettor is free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is squeaky-clean inside. Exhaust is original & solid. Seat base feels in very good condition. Indicators are tidy. Chain guard is tidy.
The engine is cosmetically very clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs & revs.
