1980 Honda CB750K DOHC Unregistered US Import Classic Running Restoration Project
This well-respected and Tax & MOT exempt 1981 Honda CB750K DOHC has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 15427 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Front indicators & l/h side panel badge being the most obvious. It has age about it so the paintwork is faded & tank has rust scabs, tyres are perished, brake master cylinder is not working & carburettors are stuck. Sadly, the l/h silencer is holed underneath & rear indicators are broken.
This is the actual bike for sale – Not library pictures from 41 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.
The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims, good hubs & brake plate, disc & caliper. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy. Mudguards are both solid. Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look ok. Paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is useably clean inside. Exhausts are original & 3 pipes appear to be solid. Seat is in fairly good condition throughout. Chain guard is tidy as is the grab rail.
The engine is cosmetically quite clean BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel from a dummy tank, it fires, starts, runs & revs but it is obvious the carbs need attention.
