This well-respected, and very much sought-after Tax & MOT exempt 1976 Yamaha XT500C Enduro has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
This and the fact it's only showing 9217 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
While it looks entirely plausible, we have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.

As you can see this bike is remarkably original & nearly complete missing just the mirrors.
It has stood a while, so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded on the fuel tank.
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 48 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A great find!.
The wheels look straight with nice clean alloy rims, good hubs & brake plates.
Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy.
Mudguards are both solid & are tidy.
Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers.
Instruments & switches look good.
Carburettor is free sliding off the twist grip.
Exhaust is original & solid.
Seat is in very good condition throughout.
Indicators are tidy.
Shock absorbers are damping fine.
The engine is cosmetically clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression
BUT BEST OF ALL when we fed it fresh fuel, gave it a few prods it fires, starts, runs, revs & rides nicely.
