1978 Suzuki GS400C Unregistered US Import Classic Restoration Project VIN: GS40040599 Stock No: 97840 This Tax & MOT exempt 1978 Suzuki GS400C has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life
This and the fact it's only showing 11357 miles and has been in dry storage for a considerable time have helped maintain some of its boyish good looks

As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – Battery & side panel badges being the most obvious
It has stood a while, so the tyres & seat cover are perished & tank is mucky inside
Sadly, the silencers are both holed
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS
The wheels look straight with clean chrome rims, good hubs & brake plate, disc, caliper & working master cylinder
Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome & clean alloy
Mudguards are both solid
Taillight assy is good as are the headlight & hangers
Instruments & switches look good
Carburettors are free sliding off the twist grip
Seat base is in good condition throughout
The engine is cosmetically clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression - We have had it firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention
